Mariusz Pudzianowski is the worlds strongest man, who switched to MMA 2009th His record is 3-1 and the only loss is to the two-time heavyweight champion in the UFC, Tim Sylvia. Now on Saturday, May 21, he meets the taller and heavier heavier James Thompson in Polish MMA event KSW 16. They are two giants with the same explosive fighting style.

Round 1: Sylvia jabs Pudzianowski early. Pudzianowski shoots in, grabs a leg. He takes Sylvia down to a huge ovation. Sylvia gets right back to his feet though. Pudzianowski holds him against the cage and throws a few knees. Sylvia circles free and lands a knee of his own. Pudzianowski stuffs him against the cage. Sylvia rocks Pudzianowski with a right. Pudzianowski’s bleeding from an elbow now. Sylvia asserting himself now with long jabs and an occasional right. Sylvia with a clinch and a knee. Pudzianowski looks exhausted with 1:20 left. Sylvia throws him down with :45 left. He moves to side control with :15 remaining, then postures up. Pudzianowski lasts the round. MMA Fighting scores it for Sylvia, 10-9.
Round 2: Sylvia with knees to the body and face in the opening seconds. Pudzianowski took both. Sylvia with some leg kicks. Not looking good for Pudzianowski, who goes down seconds later. Sylvia immediately moves to side control, then takes the crucifix and rains down punches until Pudzianowski taps.

On May 7, only 2 weeks before his fight with Tim Sylvia, Mariusz Pudzianowski is set to have his second MMA fight VS Yusuke Kawaguchi at KSW 13 in Poland.

According to promoters Corey Fischer and Eric “Butterbean” Esch, the fight will take place in the DCU Center in Worcester, Massachusetts’ on April 23. Three UFC veterans, Rich Clementi, Yves Edwards and Houston Alexander has also been signed. According to Fischer, “It’ll be on pay-per-view and shown live in Korea, Poland, Canada and about 14 other countries”. “This will have more viewers than (the UFC’s) show.”

1. Mariusz Pudzianowski vs. Phil Pfister
Two former Worlds Strongest Man winners, Pudzian has got a small advantage in experience, Phil has got a small advantage in size.
2. Mariusz Pudzianowski vs. Bob Sapp
Mariusz is younger and hungrier, but Sapp has a huge advantage in experience from both MMA and K-1. A big question is how well Sapp will handle someone who is stronger than himself.
3. Mariusz Pudzianowski vs. James Thompson
While James Thompson has almost 30 MMA fights on his record, Mariusz would most likely KO Thompson in the first round, like many before him.
4. Mariusz Pudzianowski vs. Gary Goodridge
Ladies and Gentlemen, sit down and grab your popcorns. While this match most likely wont last more than two minutes, it will be one for the highlight reels!
5. Mariusz Pudzianowski vs. Mark Coleman
With Coleman being a shadow of his former self, Pudzian could very well KO him. If he manages to keep the fight standing that is.
6. Mariusz Pudzianowski vs. Tim Sylvia
While Tim is a former UFC heavyweight Champion, Mariusz possess way more talent both as an athlete and as a fighter, so give him a year of experience and a few more fights and this will be interesting.
7. Mariusz Pudzianowski vs. Jimmy Ambriz
Ambriz is one of those huge and freakishly strong guys that either wins or loses in the first round. This could be a great matchup for Mariusz to get his feet wet.
8. Mariusz Pudzianowski vs. Frank Mir
If big, strong and aggressive guys is a disease, then Frank Mir is the antidote. While this can only go one way, it would be interesting to see how long Mariusz can last.
9. Mariusz Pudzianowski vs. Brock Lesnar
While this matchup has the potential to fill a whole baseball stadium, it is way too early in Pudzian’s career to even consider. Let’s wait awhile until Mariusz has gotten his MMA driver’s licence, before considering this as a potential matchup.
10. Mariusz Pudzianowski vs. Fedor Emelianenko
If Pudzianowski will only have one more MMA fight before calling it quits, this should be it. Imagine the worlds strongest man taking on the worlds best MMA fighter. While the odds are sky high in favor of Emelianenko, there is always that one percent potential chance of an upset, and what an upset it would be!
